MOVE 1: THE SIDE STEPPER

Works: butt and back of legs

HOW TO: Stand tall, feet together, toes facing forward. Take a wide step to the right with your right foot and bend your right knee, so you're in a side lunge. Place your hands just above your right knee (try not to twist your upper body-your torso, knee, and toes should face forward). Hold for a count of one, then squeeze your butt and return to the starting position. Hold for one, then lunge again. Do 15 reps on each side.

MOVE 2: CURTSY SQUATTER

Works: butt, inner and outer thighs

HOW TO: Stand with your arms at your sides, your left foot in front of your right, and both feet slightly turned out. Now, lower yourself into a squat (or curtsy) until your thighs are almost parallel to the floor. Then, squeeze your inner thighs as hard as you can and come back up. Do 15 with your left foot in front then switch your feet and do another 15

MOVE 3: LAID-BACK LEG LIFTER

Works: butt, front and back of legs

HOW TO: Lie on your back with your knees bent. Now, raise your butt and lower back a few inches so that your shoulder blades and feet support your weight. Lift your right leg so it's at a 45-degree angle with the floor. Hold for 20 seconds. Lower your back, butt, and leg- then repeat the whole move by raising the left leg. Try 10 total.

MOVE 4: HEEL RAISER

Works: calves

HOW TO: Begin by standing with your feet together, your toes facing forward, and your arms by your sides. Now, lift your heels and roll onto the balls of your feet. Hold for one second, then lower. Repeat 20 times. For an extra kilojoule-burning challenge, hop up (rather than just rolling up), land on the balls of your feet, and then slowly lower your heels.

ON-THE-DAY TONERS

PRIME YOUR MUSCLES. You know how 10 push-ups make your arms look temporarily more buff? Well, this is the same idea, but for legs: Stand with your back against a wall, then slide down until you're in a sitting position. Hold for a minute. Voilà!

TRY AN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY. To temporarily smooth any bumpy-bits, try this dermatologist-approved trick: Rub a dollop of hemorrhoid cream into each thigh. The smoothing effect should last about three hours.

ADD SOME SHIMMER. After slathering on lotion, dip a powder brush in shimmer powder and sweep it down the centre of your legs, front and back. This will visually slim and elongate your leg.

SHAVE. As simple as it seems, just shaving (even if your legs are hairless) will help them look better. Running the blade over wet skin takes off the top, dead layer of cells, revealing the fresh layer beneath. Moisturise aftrwards.
